Below is a front page story of how I was attacked and mugged this week, and 12 homeless people came to my rescue-thankfully! I wrote about my ordeal and how I was helped to a major South African newspaper who in turn ran it on their front page- as it was a feel good story. This article also resulted in me being interviewed on two radio stations. Even though the journalist mentions that I’m both a photographer and children’s book author-which led to traffic to my two websites; www.calminstorm.com and www.garyhirson.com I wouldn’t suggest going this route for a bit of publicity.

The name of…

Ways to market a book
So I come back from the London book fair licking my chops and expecting to have an instant best seller-which in South Africa is 4000 copies sold. I’m reckoning that now I’m the author of 2 books I’m sure to rise straight to the top. Hmmm a bit of disappointed coming my way. The stats…
