I do realise that we’re currently experiencing very uncertain times. However, I wanted to introduce myself and bring to your attention what I offer in the way of upskilling students in Leadership and Life Skills.

I can only imagine the stresses and strains that Chefs, kitchen, and hospitality staff must endure.

Hot and enclosed environment, very tight deadlines, huge pressure to perform and produce consistently on a continuous basis, while dealing with a local and international clientele.

There is very little or no room for error. Things might get said or done in the heat of the moment or misinterpreted which might have a long-lasting effect if they are not dealt with effectively and maturely.

I offer live and online-SACIA-validated-leadership-skills-programs, (SACIA is the South African Communications Industry Association.)

It has been proven that leadership skills can be developed, and even though some make better leaders than others, we all have the capacity to be effective leaders.

As we face challenges I believe that leadership skills are more important, not only for a team leader, but for everyone, as it is the traits of a leader that will help us lead our way through life, communicate more effectively, and create a more productive environment as opposed to us just managing with what life throws at us.

Besides being a COMENSA Credentialed Practitioner Life Coach, for the last 20 years, I’ve been involved as a Production Manager and Producer in the South African Stills, TVC and  Film Industry.  I now train the crew in production and leadership skills.

I mention this as this industry is not too dissimilar to the kitchen environment. They both operate within extremes – extremely tight deadlines, large crew, and crew dynamics, and long days – sometimes in extreme conditions. One needs to be an effective leader to deal with this. Through research, I discovered that when people start a job they tend to focus on doing the job to the best of their ability. They then get promoted and have a team reporting to them, and even though they are good at their job, they usually haven’t had any Leadership Skills and Communications Skills Training. This can have a negative impact on them and their team.

My Leadership Skills program – Thriving in life and on Set is designed to provide the necessary training to provide the solutions to create effective leaders.

As mentioned, I’m a COMENSA Credentialed Practitioner Life Coach, meaning that I’ve coached individuals and groups for over 150 hours, I’ve been assessed by COMENSA Assessors and I’ve had to pass their exam – all of this is over and above my Coaching qualification which I obtained in 2014.

I have Coached and facilitated my Leadership Skills live and online to individuals and groups like; Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company, The SA Film Academy, Film School Africa, Ikasi Creative Media, The Winnie Mabaso Foundation (British NGO), We are all Connected (German Ngo), Home from Home (SA Ngo), Western Cape Network for Peace and development, MKem, numerous Film Production Companies, and film crew members. Testimonials can be viewed at the bottom of my website page

My focus as a Coach and Leadership Skills facilitator is to contribute to the development of the younger generation of creatives and entrepreneurs, as it’s their dreams that ore our future.

I combine the elements linked to creativity, Being curious, trying new things, being prepared to be wrong, being prepared to being vulnerable, and Leadership skills including effective communication, so that they can effectively flourish in whichever environment they find themselves.

The content of my program comprises of:
